A Day That Will Never Be Forgotten

September 11th 2001, a day that began as any other Tuesday, soon became a day no one would ever forget. As a freshman in high school, that day was just an ordinary weekday for me and my peers. As I would for any other school day, I woke up, took a quick shower, brushed my teeth and walked to the bus stop with my sister. My sister and I sat at the corner playing cards until the bus came, like we would every morning. The bus came and we sat in our usual seats. When I arrived to school I said goodbye to my sister and headed straight to my locker. Since it was a Tuesday, I had lab first period, so I did not need anything other than my lab materials. I put all my personal belongings in my locker and headed to class. I vaguely remember seeing anyone on my route to class for I was so sleepy and tired. All I remember is getting to class and just constantly looking at the clock in hopes that time would go faster. About an hour later my first class finally ended. It was now about 8:15am. I got up out of my seat and quickly sprinted to my locker where my friends and I always met prior to heading to our second period class. We walked to class and hung out outside of the classroom until the bell rang. We entered the classroom took our seats and that is when I began to notice that something was not right. The office began calling students and teachers down to the office one after the other. I had no idea what was going on. All I knew was that I had hoped that they would call me down so I would have an excuse to get out of class. The bell rang and second period was over. My friends and I got up and walked out of class only to notice a bunch of frantic looks on everyone’s face. Everywhere I looked, teachers and students wore a face of worry and fear. As I walked further down the hallway all I could hear was cries of fear and disbelief. My friends and I still had no idea what was going on. Curiosity grew for all of us.
