Converting Decimal to Binary and Binary to Decimal (20 points) Instructions for the Binary Conversion Exercise:
NOTE!!: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CLICK ON THE DIAGRAM TO START THE LAB. The diagram displayed during the experiment is not used.

The only buttons that you need to be concerned about are the “Suggested Approach” and the “Sample Solution”. Write a paragraph (minimum five college-level sentences) below that summarizes what was accomplished in this lab, what you learned by performing it, how it relates to this week’s TCO’s and other course material; and just as important, how you feel it will benefit you in your academic and professional career. (10 points)

It's nice to be able up and down convert in your head when doing packet/traffic inspections. Hex too. It's not that it's important to be able to do a whole string in your head, but knowing the fundamentals and having the ability to see patterns in the inspection will give you a leg up. Also good for reading log files on the fly, too, or creating scripts to find patterns when you don't have Internet access (which can happen when you're buried in a data center with malfunctioning stuff in your rack). It's just another tool in your toolbox. -------------------------------------------------
